Studio Policy Update
Monday, September 12, 2022 by Philip Burns | Uncategorized
Happy fall! Much has gone on over the past few years, but what hasn’t changed is our commitment to people and the arts. We are thrilled to have grown our staff of brilliant teaching artists and we are very thankful for the wonderful students and their families who believe that education in music is something that should be taken seriously.
At the start of the pandemic, we made the decision to loosen our attendance and payment policies as getting through life had become so hard for so many. As we’ve observed the changes in the world and the people who surround us, we believe that we are in a place where we can return to more structure on our studio calendars and our expectations. As a result, we are returning to a semester system. All students will be financially responsible for the specific number of weeks that their teacher is teaching this semester. If you know you have an upcoming conflict, please let your teacher know and make arrangements to switch with another student. If you can’t find another student to swap lesson times with, please let your teacher know so that they can find a time that will work.
Make up lessons are ONLY given for emergencies, sickness, inclement weather, and if your teacher needs to cancel for any reason.
If you have any questions or challenges, please reach out! Above all else, we want to make lessons as helpful, enjoyable and accessible as we can. Thank you for being with us on this journey!
Sincerely,
Phil, Tina, Kate, Chana, Nathan and Harry
Showcase Announcement
Friday, August 12, 2022 by Tina Burns | Uncategorized
Hello everyone!
I'm writing to confirm that we did not get enough people signed up to perform a summer showcase this coming Wednesday the 17th. We needed at least 20 students and we only had 10 who were available to perform. As I'm sure you can imagine, there are many moving parts that go into an event like this. To name a few, there are fees associated with renting the recital hall, equipment set up, programs, getting the word out, accompanying, directing, paying band members for their time and talent, administrative efforts and making sure there is an enthusiastic audience present for the students to perform for. We will keep trying to rally students together for performance opportunities. In the meantime, spread the word that we have openings! The more students we have, the more likely we will have enough people available and willing to share their work. In the future we will be sending out surveys before we schedule performances to gather information on whether or not scheduling a performance is worthwhile for the students as well as our administration and staff. With these efforts, we hope to decrease the element of disappointment for the students who are excited to sing for their friends and family. Please accept my sincerest apologies that this did not work out the way many of us were hoping. I appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we find our way forward out of the pandemic and continue to work through trying times. Thank you for being with us! You all are wonderful and we are so happy to have this amazing studio family! On to the next...
With love,
Tina, Phil, Kate and Chana
COVID-19 UPDATE
Wednesday, September 1, 2021 by Tina Burns | Uncategorized
Dear students and families. As we move into an uncertain fall semester, we are asking that students who have not had the covid-19 vaccine, please take their lessons online. If you are feeling the least bit unwell, please do not come to the studio for your lesson. Thank you! We appreciate your flexibility and patience as we navigate new policies.
Actor, Producer, Singer Peter Albrink Free Masterclass THIS FRIDAY 1/29 at 6:00
Wednesday, January 27, 2021 by Tina Burns | Uncategorized
Hello Everyone!
I wanted to make sure you all are aware of the masterclass taking place this Friday, 1/29 from 6-7:30. It is free and open to the public.
I am always thrilled to be able to bring amazing artists to the studio. Hearing from people who have succeeded in the field that we all love and many of us aspire to work in is so important for us all. Peter is a very well rounded artist and will have a lot of insight into the current state of the performing world. He will be working with 5 of our studio students and will talk specifically about how to stay true to yourself artistically in today's world.
I can't stress enough how lucky we are to have him and how important it is to join us.
You can access the zoom meeting here:

I look forward to seeing you all!

Studio Voice Class
Friday, January 8, 2021 by Tina Burns | Uncategorized
Hello friends! Beginning on Tuesday January 12th we will be offering a weekly studio voice class. This is an opportunity for us to come together each week and share the things we have been working on and get feedback from all of the studio voice teachers. It is a time to ask questions about things that we may be struggling with technically and musically and come together in support of one another during this time of isolation, creatively and otherwise. I'm excited to see all of your beautiful faces!
All best and Happy New Year! ~ Tina
